Welcome to the forum!!!!:19:

I heard that they will stick to their parents back and eat the slime that is on the parents. Now i might be wrong because i don't know much about discuss but i think that that is right.

Congrats on the eggs BTW.

i thought that they did....thats only like a week after they are born i believe because htey can't swim until a week after they are born. When they are born they sit in the place that they were born and don't move. they will eat their yolk sac. After a week they will swim to their parents and eat their slime coating...after a week (i think) of eating their parents slime they then will accept BBS (baby brine shrimp) and powdered flake food....now my time line may be wrong but they eat all of this stuff.....Good luck with the eggs.

Welcome to AC. Let us know if we can help out in any way!

As for discus, they are very similiar to any cichlid in the way they take care of their fry. The fry will graze off their parents slime coat, but this is ok as the parents produce much more slime coat (mucas) during this period. Feel free to post your questions in the Discus area of the forum.
