ok well now i have about......100 eggs....so now i am like super excited...but the only thing is...that the males bubblenest isn't that big...but he seems to put all of the eggs he grabs into his mought into a bubble and then blows it up so it floats in a bubble...i dunno...its weird....lol...
So how long does it take for the eggs to fully hatch???
Thanks,
Curtis

it isn't wierd they are just breeding.Lol you dont know that. Remove the female when you see her not giving eggs anymore. The fries will hatch about 30 hrs later and then you remove the male too .I had problems with feeding my fries and getting fungus on it. Don't feed them too much .feed them crushed flakes or boiled egg yolk .And ya don't ever ban me from this site. I love it!!!!!!!!

well i also heard that you have to feed them infusoria for the fry??? because it is easier for them to eat....also....i heard that you only take toe female out and leave th emale in until the fry as free swimming...about a week later after the eggs hatch...
Thanks myster619,

Congrats on the eggs!! I have always wanted to try and breed bettas but i don't have a tank i can put them in yet!
Congrats on your successful spawn! I hope they hatch for you this time( this is your second try right?) I have yet to try to spawn my bettas but I really hope yours goes well and you get lots of little fry.

Yes...this is my second attempt but the first time the male almost killed the female so i didn't get any eggs at all the first time...and this is the same pair i used before.....so i now have a breeding pair of bettas....
Well i just took the female out because she was in the other side of the tank and the male was sterring her there so i thought that it was time for her to come out. Also i didn't even use an aquarium to breed mine...i used a plastic container...about 2-3 inches of water deep and the container was about that tall and...30-40 cm long about 10 cm wide. So thats all you need. lol.
Thanks for all of the replys. I appriciate it.

sorry for the double post but....ok well since my males bubblenest is tiny like 10 bubbles maybe...will the eggs still survive??? when he blows them into the nest it looks like he forms a little bubble around each egg and he is keeeping up by keeping them up in there but will they survive??? i hope that this doesn't make a difference.
Thanks,
Curtis
It doesnt seem like it should make a difference as long as the eggs are floating and fertilized they should hatch. Luckily they should hatch fairly quickly and you will know how successfull his odd bubble blowing is:)

yeah they are floating....they seem to stick to the side of the styrofoam cup i placed in there for him to build his nest in. But as soon as one falls out of the sup he is right on it and has it right back onto the cup/small bubblenest before you could be worried. lol.
So far so good.
