A few years back when I was a kid and very inexperienced(?)....I didn't know what to set the heater on, so I set it on a high level(this was in a one gallon tank btw). I had gone to church that night and I came home with boiled fries lol.

thats what happened to me, and i felt guilty about it. i was treating a small JD for fin rot in a 5g, and the heater broke and instead of keeping it at 78F it went to 90F and he died because of it

So I guess the moral of this story is make sure that you are ready to raise fry. Do some research on how to raise them before you breed your fish. it also didn't help that it didn't have numbers on the stupid heater....

Well that wasn't really your fault....well I really wasn't at fault either but I should have done some more resaerch on breeding and taking care of fry

another moral of the story is, always buy the best heater like the stealth heater. very durable and i think they are shatter-proof.
