I set up my tank, (55gallon) a few nights ago, loaded it up with water. I have yet to put fish in it, well a couple of nights ago, i put in a decoration along with an air pump. I noticed now the water is somewhat cloudy, like white. I dont even have fish in it yet, I was going to put some in today but dont know now cuz of this. Is this normal? Should I do anything?

Did you rinse your gravel?

hi its might be a bacterial bloom but you should really read up on how to cycle your tank before you put fish in , it could kill fish if the tank is not properly cyclrd before they are added.
Have you cycled it? It sound like you haven't.
White cloudiness sounds like either particulate matter floating in the water or like you are having a bacterial bloom. A bacterial bloom means you may have ammonia from somewhere, get a master test kit and check your water parameters and let us know what they are.

if you cleaned everything well check your tapwater for ammonia. if it is small particles re-fill the tank or just let it settle. what kind of filter are you running?

Sounds like it's probably the gravel. Had the same thing and the cloudiness cleared up after 24hrs approx
