Hi,

First thanks to Zakish for his response re: Gouramis being ok with salt. The Flame's lesion is actually healing which is very exciting for me as I am relatively new (10 months) to fishkeeping and I have never succeeded in reversing a fish 'illness' quite so well!

My question: I have a 29 gal planted tank with 2 female dwarf gouramis, 2 male dwarf gouramis, 1 albino corydora and 1 peppered corydora. I want to add another cory as I know they do better in higher numbers, but am also wondering if I do that how many more dwarfs I can fit? I also want a powder blue m/f combo.

I figure:

1 flame male, 1 flame female = 5 inches
1 reg dwarf male, 1 reg dwarf female = 5 inches
1 powder male, 1 powder female = 5 inches
1 albino cory = 2 inches
1 pepper = 1 inch
1 additional cory = 3

Therefore I am at 21 inches of fish, so I figure I will be ok. What do people think?

It sounds like you should be fine... just make sure you have plenty of water flow and plants.

I would forget about the inch rule.
The males might pick on each other but that is at your discretion.

Just in general you will overcrowd your tank and fish and whole environment will be unhappy.

I think the males might fight, i had 2 in a 10g until they decided to kill each other.

I have two dwarf in a 10g with several tetras. My 2 males don't fight at all. They just swim around making funny faces.
