For people with algae issues

I read this in a planted aquarium book.

It said to limit algae growth, turn off the aquarium light for a few hours during the day, then turn it back on for the remainder. I think it said it's called a fiesta. Not sure if it works, but if you're having algae troubles, it's worth a shot.

It works although it is not good for plants in the short term either. I find that light, CO2, and proper ferts do a better job in the long run than this does.

I know a lot of people that do a "2 hour siesta". Says it works great.
