My niece brought us back some seashells from the beach and wanted us to put them in our saltwater tank, is this okay? Boil first? Anything else I need to know?

Yes, I'd boil...esp. if there's any meat left in them...or you could use bleach (and just rinse well and let dry completely before putting them in the tank)...
