Okay! Tanks been up since May...this is where I'm at as of today...no more icky algae, just some nice macro that I quite enjoy...and almost no more cyano (quite bad for a while)...

Might be getting that baby anemone this week...er, if it can be convinced to release it's rock...:hmm3grin2orange:

Thanks guys! I can see the SW addiction...it takes more time and you need to stay more involved with it (maintenance wise)...PLUS...I don't doubt that the horrendous prices related to all things SW have something to do with maintaining interest too! No one wants to see their investment go down hill...

...some corals can live decades too...as well as some other inverts...:c7:

Lovely tank, you have a nice touch. Start planning for that 200 gallon tank, though, as that Sarcophyton in the upper left can and will get gigantic. Three feet tall, three wide isn't uncommon.

Thanks guys!

Yes, that's the problem with small reef tanks...stuff can outgrow it! Hopefully the leather is a slow grower...

Thanks for all the compliments everyone!

Brought home a baby yuma (it's pink!) yesterday and a couple of teeny tiny acoropora frags that I attached to a frag disk...

Everyone's looking good today, esp. the yuma, so I think it'll be good to go. The tiny acrorpora frags dont' look like much...not sure what kind they are, staghorn I'm assuming...but maybe bird's nest...if I find out I'll let you know...along with a picture!

From their website ....

2 x 55 watt T5 power compacts (1 watt-liter/4 watt-gallon)
10,000K/Actinic lighting

.... 4w/g seems to be standard for cube packages.

Yes, the lights are what Alizee mentioned...they're just fine for my needs...

I just have to remember to keep the saltcreep off the light cover...

Someone explain to me how to take good pictures.
I can never take good ones and I have a 6.1 MP Cannon. It has a lot of options. What should I turn on/off to get good tank shots?
They usually comeout really bright and unclear when I take them.

shut off all the lights in the room but the actual tank lights

A tripod usually helps a lot if you have one available. Also, some of the Canon models have an aquarium mode that I've had limited success with.
