got the coolest inverts

the reef store was doing renos, so they had a bad coral selection. however, they had the coolest thing, a arrow crab. hes brown, with huge long thin legs and a triangular head. he was only 25$, so i got him and a coral banded shrimp, total was 50$. theyre done renos next month, so in a few days i'll get corals somewhere else

renos=renovations. lol. i had to go after they went in the tank and i got back now, so here they are waving at you guys!

i LOVE the arrow crab, he likes to pick stuff off of the rock and off of himself with his claws.

and actually, i think the arrow crab is wild caught. theyre found 30-60m down the ocean and are rare to breed in captivity

and i made sure both are reef safe. the arrow crab is known to maybe go after large soft corals but that isnt a problem for me. the arrow crab also likes to munch on bristleworms which is good

lol, im scared the arrow will be an escapee. he likes to crawl on the side of the glass and he has nice little long legs to run away. just curious, how long do you think he would be fine out of the tank if something did happen?

lol, 2manyfish, now that i think of it, he does look like a spider! i hate spiders but this guys pretty cool. i think they'll be fine with the fish. the clown goby and clownfish are pretty fast. now all i need is corals!

and 2manyfish, i remembered you saying to try making a canopy, i made one! i had some old 36" aquarium fluorescent fixtures that are busted, i rigged them so that they cover the lighting, my retinas and my corals thank you! lol

i studied the arrow shrimp, and hes not an escapee (plus with the hood he cant escape). he just likes to stick his arm out of the tank for some food

i found some odd crabs, they were called "decorator crabs" i think. they looked like fuzzy yellow and black tarantulas, and i though they were fake because of their name. right then one leaped at me. i didnt buy him since i HATE tarantulas

the arrow crab did the coolest thing! he used his long armed pincher, and bent it over and scratched his head with his elbow.

i flicked on the lights to try my canopy and it successfully works!

the arrow crab found some food this morning. i threw a supersoft pellet by him and he grabbed it in his claw and stuffed it in his mouth
