Anemone crab

I have an anemone crab, had him for a what, a year or so? Anyway he molted recently then took a new shell. But you know what's weird? He hasn't moved the anemones to the new shell!! I saw him walking around and it was like where are the anemones?? I found them still on their old shell back in the corner. I have moved the shell to the front of the tank but the crab just walks on by them.....

I have never heard of this and can't find anything on the net about this. Don't know if I should be worried either. Oh, and one of them seemed to have cloned itself or whatever as there is a tiny replica just under one of the anemones.

I dunno why the crabs ignoring them, but they're awesome. Do you have any pics?

I am trying to upload pics from the iPhone and I am doing something wrong!! Anyway this is the only pic I have so far of the shell with the anemones just sitting there alone....
Oh and only one is open in this pic, they both closed for some unknown reason and I do have another pic of both of them open but of course I can't get that one to download!!!

i had a problem loading pics from my phone at first too, but on my phone i put size to 800X600 and it works

I think maybe we have too much going on with the wireless. I'm on and I think my son has two or three of his computers on too. Poor little phone can't compete with that!

I've gotten a couple of pics I sent only none of the anemones. I think it's just slow tonight. Tomorrow I'll get up and have like 40 emails with pics (because I tried them more than once when they didn't arrive)!

if im not mistaken the size of a land hermit crab

holly....so it will get fairly big then...about the size of a softball. COOL.

I don't know how big the crab itself will grow. I do know that I saw a red starry hermit that was the size of a baseball once!! Freakin huge and I wondered how badly it would hurt if it grabbed you with it's claw!!

BTW, the anemone crab and the other crab I have are both the size of a golfball right now.
