Been trimming the excess java moss out of my shrimp tank. I am loathed to throw it away so I want to grow it on to sell. In the absence of another tank set up, do you think this will work? :hmm3grin2orange:

I do enjoy an experiment (my other half is sick of me using the kitchenware for my tanks!)

High enough light and water, it should work.

Yeah it's just a 40W bedside lamp in the spare room. I thought I'd put it on each evening when I got home from work, see how well it grows. The water is unheated, but I think java moss shoudl be ok at UK room temperatures. I'll change the water a couple of times a week and see how it goes. :shappy:

It's still alive. thumbs2: Think it's an easy win. I might take a pic tomorrow to track any growth.

Try a moss jar. Just tap water, some moss, and sitting in a window that doesnt get direct sunlight. Or you can use tank water with some nutrients in it, but with low enough light, its not necessary.
I just set one up. The anacharis is growing like crazy. The moss, not so much.
