recommended stocking rate is 1 per 10 gal but, they do better in larger groups so I would go with 5-6 and give them a little zucchini once a week.
They are a neat little fish price ranges from 2-$3 ea

Yes, they eat cucumber. They need to be fed daily, not weekly. Blanch the corgette to soften it a bit, as its too hard for them otherwise.
They will drop like flies if they aren't fed every day.

Just put the slices in boiling water for a couple minutes, where they are just softened, not mushy.

They use weights or rubber bands to make it sink. I use something called a screwcumber for it.

Honestly even if you do get rid of the pleco i dont think youd have enough space for it in your 33g.

I haven't had much luck with my otos...but I currently have 4 or 5 in my 25g and they've been there for a while...hopefully they'll stick around a long time still...

I've been feeding them algae pellets and zucchini...

I had 2 in my 5 gallon, but I only have 1 now. Cute little guys they are.
They're only $1.56 at petsmart by the way....tad cheaper than $2-3...just for reference in case you have one in your area.

Thanks...yeah Megan ihave a petsmart close to my about half hour drive...but where it is we go there all of the time. My mom is actually going today but i have stuff to do at home so i can't :(. lol

EDIT- but i think that i am going to get some of those because my pleco isn't doing to good of a job and he is REALLY big so i don't want to stunt his growth.

THanks for the replies. :D

Dave, if you feed daily they won't take care of the algae, at least mine didn't.
If I put zucchini in the tank all 7 Oto's will stay on it until it's gone, that's why I suggested weekly supplemental feeding.

Otocinclus need a lot of green food to keep their engines going, thus the veggies should be available everyday.

Why not? people have 3 Otto's in a 10 gallon with some dwarf puffers, which is what I'm setting up, with no problem.
