rummynose behavior

I have rummynose tetras and glowlight tetras and when the male glowlight is trying to get the female glowlight to breed the rummynose starts nipping at the glowlights fins.He only nips at the male glowlight never the female and only when the male glowlight is trying to breed. Does anyone know why this happens?

I've seen similiar cross species behaviour and haven't found an official explantion. Personally I think its the rummynose's way of saying "Hey, I AIN'T getting any, neither are you buddy... ::bite:: ::bite:: ::bite::"
