William said they are somewhat similar to oscars when i was asking about them so i would assume prawns, small feeder fish, bloodworms, chopped earthworms, cichlid pellets to name a few

Where u from?

Jags are predatory fish so everything mentioned by Full3R as well as other meaty lean foods are suitable for jags

bloodworms are a bit small to feed large jags but is suitable for small to midsized ones.

any live food can easily introduce lethal parasites and diseases and therefore if a fish will take prepared foods they should not get live ever again unless necessary to condition them for breeding. it isnt worth the risk to their life just to have something moving over something not moving. on top of the risk of disease, prepared foods are more nutritionally complete and a diet of only prepared foods can reduce aggression, a very good thing if there is ever to be tankmates. the best pellets are Hikari bio-gold+, but a variety of high quality pellets is best. if desired, adding some frozen foods as well would be fine.
